The three restaurants at the Donnafugata Golf Resort & Spa spotlight the splendid culinary tradition of Sicily, offering guests a sophisticated, innovative cuisine which showcases the richness of the local dishes and wines on which Chef Salvatore Pullara bases his creations.

Learning from the women in his family cooking over the stoves of his youth, Salvatore Pullara has made the secrets of traditional Sicilian recipes his own and turned his passion into his profession. Pullara’s cuisine is marked by the use of top-quality seafood – red porgy, greater weever, octopus, tuna and king prawns – bough fresh at the market every day and enhanced only by the flavour of fresh vegetables such as aubergine and Pachino cherry tomatoes native to the Ragusa area, and the use of top-quality cheeses with a denomination of origin. Trying the dishes created by the Chef enables you to relive the great cultural tradition of Sicilian cuisine. Through his three restaurants – Il Fico d’India, the 19th Hole Clubhouse and Il Carrubo – you can experience the most delicious and exclusive local Sicilian cuisine blended with the most innovative experiences of present-day culinary artistry. The Lo Zibibblo piano bar and Il Palmento wine cellar complete the offer.

The Fico d’India. Have breakfast with the aromas of Sicily in the Fico d’India restaurant. Coffee and croissants baked by the chef, a rich buffet featuring sweets, tasty specialties and specially prepared dishes so that guests have the perfect start to each and every day of their stay at the Donnafugata Golf Resort & Spa.

19th Hole Clubhouse. Perfect for having a bite to eat after a fascinating round of golf, or enjoying a cocktail with friends, the clubhouse features basic Mediterranean cuisine. Fresh traditional ingredients are the base for preparing simple but absolutely delicious dishes, from gourmet sandwiches to salads and fresh seafood. Excellent wines and refreshing cocktails come with the meals that you enjoy while savouring the marvellous view.

Il Carrubo (Carob Tree). The cuisine at “Il Carrubo”, a surprising balance of tradition and innovation, offers guests two culinary paths to explore: the regional or Mediterranean gourmet menus. The wine cellar features the best Sicilian wines, as well as outstanding wines from the rest of Italy. Full bodied wines like Nero d’Avola and scented white wines such as the Bianco Alcamo. Fruity wines such as Moscato and Passito di Pantelleria. And, of course, the daring Marsala.
